Samjin Pharmaceutical was founded in 1968 and listed on the KOSPI in 1988. It makes the OTC analgesic Geworin and appetite stimulant Trestan, and prescription drugs including the antiplatelet agent Plaris and the cerebral function enhancer Neutyrin, while expanding into health functional foods, cosmetics, and medical devices. It built an EU-GMP injectable line at its Osong API plant, completed in November 2022 with GMP approval obtained in June 2024, and in March 2023 signed a KRW 100 billion license-in agreement with Aribio Co., Ltd. for the Alzheimer's drug candidate AR1001.
